Lieutenant Colonel ROBERT G. HATCHLEY JR.

Lieutenant Colonel Robert G. Hatchley Jr. is the Commander of 338th Recruiting Squadron at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. He leads a highly skilled team of 89 recruiters and support personnel tasked with inspiring, engaging and recruiting within Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Illinois. He is responsible for 46 recruiting offices, three Military Entrance Processing Stations. As the Commander, he partners with military, civic, educational, and community organizations to generate awareness for Air Force and Space Force. Lt Col Hatchley started his military career as an enlisted Marine, entering the Marine Corps in June of 2000. In 2008, Lt Col Hatchley became a Commissioned Officer in the Marine Corps and became an Intelligence Officer. His assignments spanned targeting operations for Attack Helicopter squadrons, leading a Joint Surveillance Aircraft Acquisition Program, and serving as Senior Intel Officer responsible for F-35B, F/A-18, AV-8B, and C-130 Squadrons. In 2019, Lt Col Hatchley conducted an inter-service transfer into the Air Force and was assigned to Air Force Central Command, where deployed as a Senior Intel Officer responsible for supporting E-8 and RC-135 operations, then served as Chief of Intel Plans and Exercises, and Division Chief of Intel Surveillance and Reconnaissance Operations. Prior to his current command, he was the Director of Operations for the 337th Recruiting Squadron.
