Lieutenant Colonel Mark G. Jansen is the Commander, 343rd Recruiting Squadron, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. He leads a dedicated team in inspiring, engaging, and recruiting future Airmen and Guardians to deliver airpower and space power for America. He oversees the recruiting activities of nine enlisted accession flights with approximately 100 active-duty and civilian personnel, covering an area of over 370,000 square-mile that includes Nebraska, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
Lt. Col. Jansen received his commission from the United States Air Force Academy in 2005. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management. His career has been mainly involved in Acquisition programs as a Program Manager in the GPS & B-1 program office. Mark also served as an ROTC instructor at Manhattan College. Lt Col Jansen served as the AFCENT LNO where he was responsible for AFCENT, AWC, 380th Expeditionary, & US Embassy equities, which entail AF Distinguished Visitor visits, conduit for all military operations between the UAE, AFAD, & USAF in support of overseas contingency operations in Southwest Asia. Prior to his current assignment, Lt Col Jansen was the DTRA USAFRICOM LNO for DTRA Combatant Command Representative Team at Kelley Barracks, USAFRICOM. In this role, he advised and supported USAFRICOM’s counter WMD plans, policy, building partner capacity and operations and led a team of 55 personnel across the USAFRICOM enterprise.
