More than 130 Air Force Junior ROTC cadets from 22 high schools spanning five states participated in the 2013 Leadership Laboratory Activity at Scott AFB, Ill., June 9-15.

Members of the 345th Recruiting Squadron, including Senior Master Sgt. Michael Kovach, Tech. Sgt. Joseph Lawrence, Tech. Sgt. Donovan Gann, Tech. Sgt. Ronna Zois, Staff Sgt. Jonathan Hamaker and Staff Sgt Nicolas Miano were on hand to provide insight into Air Force career opportunities.

LLA enables cadets to develop teamwork and leadership skills while experiencing part of the Air Force. Recruiters from the 345th RCS addressed questions ranging from Air Force opportunities and benefits to family life.

When asked about the potential for education, Zois said, "I've earned three degrees in the Air Force." She went on to note that "education is a continual process. If you're not using your educational benefits, you're wrong!"

Lawrence took a more direct approach addressing the benefits of physical fitness, challenging one of the cadets to a push-up challenge and explaining how attaining fitness now will assist them with future endeavors.
