HP recruiter STEPs up to master sergeant Published June 24, 2013 By Staff Sgt. Hillary Stonemetz Air Force Recruiting Service CANONSBURG, Pa. -- A health professions recruiter assigned to the 318th Recruiting Squadron was promoted through the Stripes for Exceptional Performers program here June 12. Tech. Sgt. Charly Moreau was promoted to master sergeant in a surprise presentation after the 311th RCS change of command. Col. Christopher Wheeler, 360th Recruiting Group commander, broke away from his scheduled presentation and started to read a list of Moreau's accomplishments. He then announced she would be known as Master Sgt. Charly Moreau. "When Colonel Wheeler called my name, my jaw hit the floor," said Moreau. "As I made my way up to the front, my mind was racing. My heart didn't stop racing for at least the next eight hours. I feel very humble and appreciative to have been chosen for promotion to master sergeant. " Lt. Col. Timothy Cox, 318th RCS commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Brad Buening, 360th Recruiting Group superintendent, presented Moreau with her new rank. "As a recruiter I have always tried to remain enthusiastic, while giving 110 percent," said Moreau. "I really enjoy giving other people the opportunity the Air Force has provided for me and my family. Recruiting is a very competitive and challenging career path. It's always a great joy to see our efforts get acknowledged." As an Enlisted Recruiter, Moreau was awarded top flight recruiter three consecutive years, health professions recruiter -- rookie recruiter, top Biomedical Science Corps recruiter, and now the STEP promotion. "We are all very happy for her and I am proud to say that she is one of my recruiters," said Tech. Sgt. Sean Pitts, 318th RCS health professions flight chief. "She works very hard and is successful in everything she sets out to accomplish." "I really love what I do. When you enjoy something this much everything else falls into place," said Moreau.
