Air Force Association honors Air Force Recruiting Service as Military Organization of the Year

The Alamo Chapter of the Air Force Association paid tribute to Air Force Recruiting Service along with more than 100 Airmen and civilians from military organizations in the San Antonio area at the 2012 Combined Awards Banquet here March 8.

Brig. Gen. Balan R. Ayyar, AFRS commander, accepted the AFA Alamo Chapter, Military Organization of the Year award on behalf of AFRS.

The AFA Alamo Chapter awards banquet is in its 26th year at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland's Gateway Club.

The Air Force Association is a civilian nonprofit organization that promotes public understanding of aerospace power and the pivotal role it plays in the security of the nation. The association publishes Air Force Magazine, conducts national symposia, disseminates information through outreach programs, sponsors professional development seminars and awards excellence in the education and aerospace fields.
