317th RCS teams up with D.C Central Kitchen to provide hot meals to the needy Published Jan. 9, 2012 By Capt. Allison Suter 317th Recruiting Squadron flight commander WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Over the holiday season, members of the 317th Recruiting Squadron teamed up with D.C. Central Kitchen to serve up hot meals to people in need here. D.C. Central Kitchen is an organization that prepares and delivers thousands of meals a day to Washington, D.C. area homeless shelters, transitional homes, rehabilitation clinics and afterschool programs. "Being a great Airman and wingman means giving back to your community," said Capt. Allison Suter, 317th RCS support flight commander. "It was an honor to spend the day helping those in need, especially during the holidays." "Those who stopped by were so heart-warming and kind," said Latoya House, 317th RCS logistics specialist. "They humbled me with their stories and left me with so much more to give." Members of the 317th RCS will continue to support their community, said Tech. Sgt. Gregory Bullock, 317th RCS support flight member. "We can't wait to come back." The 317th RCS is located in Oxon Hill, Md., and covers a 43,000 square-mile area that includes Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina. Its mission is to inspire, engage and recruit the brightest, most competitive and diverse men and women for service in America's Air Force.
