10th Anniversary "Red, White and Air Force Blue Christmas" features country star Darius Rucker Published Dec. 19, 2011 Air Force Recruiting Service Public Affairs RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, TEXAS -- Country star Darius Rucker treats his fans and radio listeners to an hour of holiday and inspirational music on this year's "Red, White and Air Force Blue Christmas." The program is distributed to more than 2,500 country radio stations across the nation as well as American Forces Radio and Television affiliates. The Air Force has brought you some of the hottest acts in country music for the past 10 years. This year is no different. Darius Rucker has many hits as front man for Hootie and the Blowfish, and has five number one hits as a solo country artist. He is a two-time Grammy award winner and was named CMA's Top New Artist. Tech. Sgt. Harry Kibbe, Air Force broadcast producer and program host, co-produced the special with Spotland Productions in Nashville and distributed by the Air Force Recruiting Service's Strategic Marketing and Communications Division. According to Jimmy Spacek, Air Force Recruiting Service broadcasting manager, "Red, White and Air Force Blue Christmas" helps program directors by providing a fully produced show with breaks for local commercials. "The entertainment and public service program is intended to ease their programming worries over the busy holiday season," he said. "It also promotes awareness of Air Force service opportunities." Last year's "Red, White and Air Force Blue Christmas" program featured country star Tracy Lawrence.
