Tech. Sgt. Jonathan Bish, 337th Recruiting Squadron MEPS liaison in Charlotte, N.C., from Hagerstown Md., joined the Air Force because of the events of Sept. 11, 2001.

"I was previously working in a juvenile detention center and had planned to join either the Air National Guard or Air Force Reserves," he said. "Then the attacks of Sept. 11 happened and I hunted down an active duty recruiter the very next day."

Bish finds inspiration in pride in his country and heritage as well as the support from his family. A sense of purpose is why he continues to serve in the Air Force.

His motto is 'if you always do your best and have integrity in everything you do, you'll never have anything to be ashamed of.'
