"I have always seen myself as being part of something more, and I wanted to serve my country and community," he said. McClendon finds inspiration in every applicant who walks in the door of his recruiting office. "I think about how I felt when it was my turn to take those steps and I try to do everything that I can to help them fulfill their goals; whether it is money, advancement, training, travel, recreation, Education, satisfaction or security," he said. "I see everyone as a 17 year old me, and I treat them the way I was treated." McClendon's motto is: 'Be the best. Bring the best.'
