AFRS group, squadrons garner Air Force Outstanding Unit Award Published April 30, 2007 By Staff Sgt. Jennifer Lindsey Air Force Recruiting Service Public Affairs RANDOLPH AFB, Texas -- Air Force Recruiting Service officials congratulate the 369th Recruiting Group, 337th Recruiting Squadron, 338th RCS and 368th RCS for winning the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award covering July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2006. The Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, authorized in 1954, recognizes units that have distinguished themselves through meritorious service or outstanding achievements that clearly set them apart from similar units. All members assigned to or under these units during the award period are authorized to wear the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award ribbon. "This award honors strong teamwork," said Brig. Gen. Suzanne Vautrinot, AFRS commander. "These four units did it in a tough environment with decreasing manning and budget. They not only met, but exceeded Air Force recruiting requirements, of which I am exceptionally proud. "Enthusiasm is their attitude, creativity and ingenuity are their creed and success is the result," she added. During the award period, the 369th RCG at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, exceeded all recruiting contract goals and extended active-duty enlistments despite having the greatest manning shortages in the command. The group was deemed excellent by the 2005 Air Education and Training Command Unit Compliance Inspection team. Additionally, the group's support flight accurately processed 1,010 performance reports and decorations, maintaining the best on-time rate in AFRS. The 337th RCS at Shaw AFB, S.C., met or exceeded the enlisted accessions goal 53 months, which contributed to the squadron earning the AFRS Standard of Excellence Award for fiscal years 2004 and 2005. The accurate processing of 1,838 active-duty applicants resulted in 47 squadron recruiters earning Senior Recruiter Badges for achieving 110 percent of goal. Additionally, the Officer Accessions team ranked No. 1 in the nation for the Hispanic Officer Training School Extended Active-Duty Program in fiscal year 2004. The squadron's performance led to its excellent rating on the 2006 AETC Inspector General Operational Readiness Inspection. The 338th RCS at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, exceeded enlisted accessions goals while focusing efforts on recruits with high aptitude test scores and a variety of racial backgrounds. The squadron Officer Accessions team exceeded its fiscal year 2005 goals, and the squadron finished No. 1 in the nation for hard-to-fill medical corps accessions. The units combined efforts helped the squadron's operations section garner an outstanding AETC IG ORI rating. The 368th RCS at Hill AFB, Utah, was the only squadron in the nation to meet or exceed all six enlisted program requirements and all 12 officer accession requirements. This accomplishment landed the squadron AFRS and 372nd Recruiting Group titles as the Top Overall Squadron, Top Officer Accessions Program and Top Officer Accessions Flight for fiscal year 2005.
