New Hampshire Dunkin' Donuts celebrates Air Force Day Published April 4, 2007 By Staff Sgt. James Moore 319th Recruiting Squadron LAWRENCE, Mass. -- Customers of the Windham, N.H., Dunkin' Donuts were in for "something amazing" March 21 when management celebrated its unique, themed event, Air Force Day, with free iced coffee. The store's manager chose the Air Force Day theme in honor of one of its employees, Joshua Liversidge, 24, who leaves in May for basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Following his BMT graduation, the Methuen, Mass., resident heads to technical school where he will train as a tactical aircraft maintenance specialist. Joshua proposed the Air Force Day theme to his manager Adrianne Vieira who wanted to hold a special store event and was open to suggestions from her employees. In true "Cross Into the Blue" spirit, Dunkin' Donuts employees wore Air Force T-shirts and hats while serving their 493 paying customers, with an overall total of about 600 store visitors. In addition to the free beverage, customers were treated to free balloons, Air Force information and a premium view of the Air Force-themed F-350 pick-up truck. The event was originally planned as a one-time event, but in support of Joshua's decision to serve his country, the store manager agreed to hold a second Air Force Day April 11, during Joshua's last day on the job.
