The 369th Recruiting Group honored radio station WBWI 92.5 FM with the Air Force Recruiting Service Commander' s Award Jan. 9 for providing outstanding Air Force support. Lt. Col. Ronald Jackson, 347th Recruiting Squadron commander, presented Fuzz Martin, the station' s program director, the award on behalf of the 369th RCG, located in San Antonio, Texas.

WBWI provided several hours of free air time to the Air Force, including public service announcements and live interviews. The station also included local recruiter Tech. Sgt. Phillip McFarling in its American Heart Association and Cans for Kids fund raising events, and to judge a station-sponsored karaoke contest.

"It is nice to have the support of a local radio station like WBWI. It is a highly listened to station and it reaches all ages so I know that our message is getting out to every level possible," said the recruiter.

In spring of 2006, the 347th Recruiting Squadron also awarded WBWI the Air Force Salutes plaque for the station' s outstanding support.
