Jason Scott took command of the 361st Recruiting Squadron, at a change of command ceremony here June 26. Scott assumed command of the squadron from outgoing commander, Lt. Col. Mitchell Dixon. Col. Frederick Williams, 372nd Recruiting Group commander, presided. "It was Jason's passion to serve that resonated most with me," Williams said. "I think we chose the right guy to replace an exceptional guy." Scott comes to McChord from Naval Air Station Pensacola, Fla., where he served as the 12th Flying Training Wing's chief of safety. Rated as a master navigator, Scott has more than 1,700 flight hours on five different models of Air Force aircraft which include the KC-135 Stratotanker and RC-135U Combat Sent aircraft. Scott joined the Air Force in 1996 as a graduate of the Air Force ROTC program at Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from Texas State University, and a Master of Military Operational Arts and Sciences degree from Air Command and Staff College, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. "This is an honor and a privilege I don't take lightly," Scott said. "There is no place I'd rather be, than right here right now with you. I look forward to working with this team to recruit the next generation of Airmen."
