344th Recruiting Squadron DEP swear-in at Texas Rangers game Published July 23, 2013 Air Force Recruiting Service ARLINGTON, Texas -- One hundred sixty-eight Air Force Delayed Entry Program members in the 344th Recruiting Squadron took the oath of enlistment at the Texas Rangers game here July 4. Lt. Col. Benjamin Forest, 344 RCS commander, administered the oath to the DEP members who were lined up on the first and third base lines in a pregame ceremony in front of an audience of 47,000 baseball fans. Chief Master Sgt. Dianne Jones, 344 RCS squadron superintendent, and Senior Master Sgt. Todd Maloney, 344 RCS production superintendent, accompanied Forest on the field during the ceremony. Five outstanding recruiters from the 344 RCS, Staff Sgt. Brandi DeHorney, Tech. Sgt. David Moore, Master Sgt. Charles Santos, Tech. Sgt. Mark Abraham and Tech. Sgt. Robert Auten, were chosen as line leaders to stand on the field alongside the future recruits. Air Force personnel from the 344 RCS, Texas National Guard and 301st Fighter Squadron held the American flag in center field, as the oath of enlistment was administered and the Band of the West played the national anthem. Tech. Sgt. Jeffery Butler, 344 RCS recruiter, reenlisted during the ceremony. Staff Sgt. Cameron Wiley threw out the ceremonial first pitch to start the game.
