Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month
49th Wing
Video by Airman 1st Class Jessica Sanchez-Chen
Nov. 16, 2021 | 2:42
October was National Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month, but domestic violence prevention and awareness should not stop on Oct. 31.

Domestic Violence can happen to anyone, and it is present in every community regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, socioeconomic status, religion, or nationality. Domestic Violence is often considered a "family issue" that happens behind closed doors, but it doesn't have to be that way. Be open and honest with your friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors.

If you or anyone you know is experiencing Domestic Violence, call you local law enforcement or one of the following local resources:

-Holloman 24/7 Victim Assistance Hotline (855) 336-6833
-Holloman Chapel staff (575) 572-7211
-Holloman’s Family Advocacy team (575) 572-7061
-Holloman’s Airmen and Family Readiness Center (575) 572-7754
-Military OneSource (800) 342-9647, www.militaryonesource.com
-The National Domestic Abuse Hotline (800) 799-SAFE [7233]
-The Distress Line (877) 476-7734, www.distressline.com
