Warrior Fitness Center Grand Opening
Nellis Air Force Base
Video by Airman 1st Class Aaron Hauser
April 19, 2012 | 1:51
Description: Nellis AFB unveils it's newest structural addition; the state-of-the-art Warrior Fitness Center. (A1C Aaron Hauser - Broadcaster, 99ABW/PA) After more than a year and a half of construction, Nellis Air Force Base is ready to unveil it's newest facility to the community: the state-of-the-art Warrior Fitness Center. Double the size of Nellis' present fitness center, the new gym boasts an impressive 110,000 square feet and over one million dollars worth of new equipment. Cycling class instructor Master Sergeant Curtis Scrugham is one Airman who is finding the new shift in facility size a major plus. (MSgt Curtis Scrugham - Cycling Class Instructor) Well in the old facility we were in an old racquetball court. We had poor lighting, poor ventilation, and poor acoustics, plus we didn't have enough room for everyone who wanted to attend. Here we've solved all those problems. We have good lighting, good temperature control, and plenty of room for everyone who wants to attend class. The Warrior Fitness Center features an indoor swimming pool, three basketball courts, an indoor running track, and a wide range of weight lifting and cardio equipment. With all of these new work out options readily available, many are finding it hard to choose their favorite. (MSgt Curtis Scrugham - Cycling Class Instructor) obviously I like the indoor cycling room because that's mainly what I do. I also enjoy the pool, but I just like having a large, spacious, state-of-the-art facility that makes you want to come to work out in. Though finding time to exercise during a busy work schedule can be a hassle, the fitness center's flexible hours ensure Airmen from all walks of life will be able to stain the new floor s with their sweat. (MSgt Curtis Scrugham - Cycling Class Instructor) Well with all the new options we have in this new facility, there's really no reason not to be fit anymore. So the more fit we are, the more ready we are. Airman First Class Aaron Hauser, Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. Available in High Definition. More
