Lieutenant Colonel Andrew D. Freitag is the Commander, 343rd Recruiting Squadron, 372nd Recruiting Group, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. He leads a dedicated team in inspiring, engaging, and recruiting future Airmen and Guardians to deliver airpower and space power for America. He oversees the recruiting activities of nine enlisted accession flights with approximately 100 active-duty and civilian personnel, covering an area of over 370,000 square-mile that includes Nebraska, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
Lt. Col. Freitag entered the Air Force as a Space and Missiles officer in 2009 after commissioning from Air Force Reserve
Officer Training Corps Detachment 772 at Charleston Southern University, Charleston, South Carolina. His operational experience includes
Minuteman III crew tours at FE Warren AFB, Wyoming and Malmstrom AFB, Montana. He also served two tours as executive officer at
the HQ and MAJCOM levels as well as two branch chief positions in AFGSC HQ. He has more than 6,800 hours operating the LGM-30G Minuteman III weapon system.
Prior to his current role, he served as Chief of Safety, 377th Air Base Wing, Kirtland AFB, New Mexico. In this role he
was responsible for executing Air Force aviation, occupational, weapons safety and nuclear surety programs to
preserve combat capability and save lives.
