Lt. Col. Stephanie L. Bukowski is the Commander, 350th Recruiting Squadron, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey. She commands 10 flights throughout 21 states in the Northeastern United States. The Squadron is comprised of 87
military and 10 civilian personnel, 66 recruiting offices, and has an area of operations that spans 588,310 square miles.
She also partners with federal agencies and civic, educational and community leaders to access high-quality recruits to meet the Air Force Reserve enlistment and line officer requirements for national security. She manages a $675,000
annual budget, and the accession of more than 1,600 Citizen Airmen each year.
Lt. Col. Bukowski was commissioned in 2008 through the ROTC program at Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey. She completed her logistical technical training also in 2008 and has served in both the Active and Reserve Components. She is a fully qualified Logistics Readiness Officer with experience in training and exercises for the Air and Army National Guard forces, operational expertise in Contingency Response missions, and extensive knowledge in Air Force Global Force Management.
Prior to her current position, she was the Air Force’s subject matter expert in Reserve Component mobilizations and managed the activation of over 45,000 Airmen to support 39 named operations across 11 combatant commands. As a result, she was awarded the Deputy Chief of Staff of Operations Field Grade Officer of the Quarter in 2026. She deployed in support of Operation SPARTAN SHIELD as the initial joint logistics officer on the ground to reopen Price Sultan Air Base, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As the first non-rated Director of Operations in the Contingency Response Group’s history, Lt Col Bukowski was awarded the Air Force’s Contingency Response Performer of the year in 2019. She also deployed as Deputy Mayor in support of Operation ALLIES WELCOME, where the Joint Task Force was responsible for resettling 15,000 Afghan evacuees.
