Lt Col Markley is the Squadron Commander at the 351st Recruiting Squadron located in Marietta, GA. The 351RCS is one of four recruiting squadrons in the 367th Recruiting Group, responsible for inspiring, engaging, and recruiting future Airmen to deliver American airpower. He leads a team of 84 military and 9 civilian personnel spread across 59 recruiting offices and 14 Military Entrance Processing Stations, which is a territory of approximately 400,000 square miles, spanning North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Puerto Rico, and parts of Louisiana and Mississippi, as well as in-service recruiting efforts in England, Italy, and Germany.
In May 2004, Lt Col Markley entered the Air Force through ROTC Detachment 840 at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. He attended Space 100 at Vandenberg AFB, California prior to attending his first technical school, also at Vandenberg AFB. In 2010 Lt. Col. Markley began service in the Reserve and subsequently attended technical school at Goodfellow AFB, Texas in June 2021 for training in his new primary AFSC as an Intelligence Officer. Prior to his current assignment, Lt. Col. Markley was Chief, Air Force Reserve Strategy at the Pentagon in Washington, DC.
