Lt. Col. Steven J. Storch, 368th Recruiting Squadron commander, joined the Air Force 18 years ago to further his education.

"I wanted to go to college and become a math teacher," he said. "The Air Force offered me a means to go to college. I remained in the Air Force because I enjoyed the camaraderie of the armed services, and I especially enjoyed representing our nation during overseas assignments."

Storch finds inspiration in his family and the Airmen he sees pursuing excellence and taking pride in themselves and their work.

"If it's easy, it isn't any fun," he said. "Work plus effort plus persistence plus people skills equal success."
