Air Force recruiter stabbed in Illinois

An Air Force recruiter was attacked at approximately 9 a.m. Oct. 19 in his office in Fairview Heights, Ill., by someone posing as an applicant.

The recruiter is a member of the 345th Recruiting Squadron based out of Scott Air Force Base. He has been transported to Memorial Hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries and is in good condition.

The assailant is still at large and local police are investigating the incident. More information will be released as it becomes available.
