It was not the usual NASCAR crowd the 332nd Recruiting Squadron "Grizzly" Flight was used to promoting the Air Force at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tenn.

The night of June 2 here featured Street Warriorz, a street-legal drag racing event open to all hotrod enthusiasts wanting to race their cars, trucks and anything else with valid license plates on the drag strip. The Bristol burnout contest ensured everyone would remember the smell of burnt rubber.

Both tires and recruiting leads were hot throughout the night. Master Sgt. Ray Bell, the area flight chief, found the results in line with what recruiters want to see -- a local crowd in the right demographics - lots of "gear heads" ages 18-27 with interests in science or fast machines. Recruiters placed well in the event with the satisfaction of knowing the U.S. Air Force was well represented.
