Sixty Air Force Delayed Entry Program recruits from the San Antonio and Austin areas chose to "do something amazing" Thursday night by taking the oath of enlistment at center court of the AT&T Center, home to the three-time National Basketball Association champion San Antonio Spurs.

Brigadier General Suzanne Vautrinot, Air Force Recruiting Service commander, not only officiated this annual DEP swear-in event, but also presented the game ball to the NBA referees prior to tip-off. The ceremony took place before the Spurs played the Phoenix Suns in front of a sell-out crowd of more than 18,000 fans. The Spurs also honored Lt Col. John E. Poast III, 341st Recruiting Squadron commander, with a gift of appreciation for the Air Force's service to the nation.

With their long standing relationship with the Spurs, the 341st RCS conducts DEP swear-in events annually. The 341st RCS holds the event not only to honor the men and women who are currently in the delayed entry program, but also to create public awareness and show those in attendance the nation's Air Force is as strong as ever.
