ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Be at least 16 years old by 1 June of the flight training year.
  • Be enrolled in high school or homeschool during the flight training year.
  • Be a US citizen
  • Have no more than 5 powered flight hours 
  • 3.0 current Grade Point Average either with an unofficial GPA Transcript or a registrar/counselor verifiable memorandum.

Notes: 

  • No flight or aviation experience necessary (we teach you to fly!)  
  • No commitment or obligation to the Air Force  
  • *AFROTC Cadets may apply through their institutions
  • **Non-US Citizens regardless of residency status are ineligible to apply

Purpose: Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ hosted a media day for local news stations focusing on Operation United Assistance and the roles the 305th Air Mobility Wing and the 621st Contingency Response Wing play in its success.

JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. - Airmen from the 621st Contingency Response Wing's alert unit, 817th Contingency Response Group, is deploying to West Africa in support of Operation UNITED ASSISTANCE in response to the Ebola virus disease outbreak. The 621st Contingency Response Wing is highly-specialized in training and rapidly deploying personnel to quickly open airfields and establish, expand, sustain, and coordinate air mobility operations. From wartime taskings to disaster relief, the 621st extends Air Mobility Command's reach in deploying people and equipment around the globe.
