Lt Col Julianne Gillespie is the Commander for the 362nd Recruiting Squadron, Moreno Valley, Calif. As commander, Lt Col Gillespie leads the recruiting activities of six enlisted accession flights, covering more than 149,000 square miles, with approximately 91 active-duty and civilian personnel. The squadron’s mission is the inspire, engage, and recruit the next generation of Airmen and Guardians.
Lt Col Gillespie graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Master of Science degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology. She then commissioned as an Aerospace Physiologist through Officer Training School. Since then, Lt Col Gillespie has held several physiology and leadership positions. Additionally, as non-rated aircrew, she has flown in multiple weapons systems and has logged flight time in five different airframes. Prior to her current positions, she was the Deputy Division Chief for Aircrew Performance, Headquarters U.S. Air Force (HAF), the Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia, where she led two branches and advised three career fields to ensure the safe training and operations to 16,000 Joint aircrew and jumpers with $230 million in assets.
