LIEUTENANT COLONEL FLORENCE K. YEE

Lt. Col. Florence K. Yee is the Commander, 342nd Recruiting Squadron, San Antonio, Texas. She leads a highly skilled team of 82 recruiters and support personnel tasked with inspiring, engaging, and recruiting within a 1.2 million square mile area of responsibility, encompassing 18 Southern states and the Caribbean.  Lt Col Yee is responsible for the annual accession of rated and non-rated line officers, as well as doctors, nurse, dentists, and allied health officers to meet the Air Force and Space Force end strength requirements.

In 2004, Lt Col Yee enlisted in the United States Air Force as an Engineering Apprentice after graduating from the University of Texas at Dallas, Dallas, Texas, in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.    In 2007, Lt Col Yee received her commission through Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. In 2011, Lt Col Yee graduated from the Air Force Institute of Technology, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio and received her Master of Science degree in Operations Research.  Afterwards, Lt Col Yee served multiple staff tours, to include assignments at the Studies & Analyses, Assessments and Lessons Learned, Headquarters U.S. Air Force (HAF/A9), Washington, D.C., Air Force Personnel Center, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, and Pacific Air Forces Headquarters, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.  Following her tour in the Pacific, Lt Col Yee was selected for the Political Affairs Strategist Program and attended the Air Command and Staff College, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama in residence.  Prior to her current assignment, Lt Col Yee served as the Chief of Inspections at the United States Africa Command, Stuttgart, Germany.
